Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Popcode Studio, LLC about your use of the Things of Mabob™ app ("the app", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.

The short version

1. Eligibility & your account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the app. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly at support@thingsofmabob.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

2. Households & collaboration

The app lets you share a household with other people. If you create or join a household, the items, photos, voice notes, text, tasks, and member list in that household are visible to its other members, and admins can invite or remove members. When you invite someone or accept an invitation, you confirm you have the right to do so. You're responsible for the content you contribute to a shared household and for how you treat the other members in it.

3. Your content

You keep all ownership of the photos, voice notes, text, and other content you add to the app ("your content"). To run the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, transmit, and display your content — including sending it to our AI provider to generate titles, descriptions, keywords, transcripts, and duplicate/lost-item matches, and sharing it with the members of any household you belong to. This licence exists only so we can operate and improve the app for you; we do not sell your content or use it to build advertising profiles. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for residual copies in backups as described in the privacy policy.

You're responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to add it. Don't upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to share.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Things of Mabob is a private, invite-only tool for organising belongings within a household. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behaviour toward other members. If you encounter content or a user that violates these terms, report it to support@thingsofmabob.com; we aim to review reports within 24 hours and will remove the content and/or remove or ban the responsible user as appropriate. Household admins can also remove members from a household at any time.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that put the service or other users at risk.

5. AI features & accuracy

A core feature of the app is automatic cataloguing using AI (see the privacy policy for which content is processed and by whom). AI-generated titles, descriptions, keywords, transcripts, and duplicate/lost-item matches are provided as-is and for convenience only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong, and you should not rely on them as the sole record of what you own or where it is. You're responsible for reviewing and, where it matters, correcting AI output. We do not use AI to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

6. Subscriptions & billing

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed on our behalf by our payments provider, RevenueCat. By subscribing you authorise the applicable app store to charge your payment method.

7. Termination & account deletion

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time from inside the app — see the step-by-step guide. Deleting your account removes your login and the data that belongs only to you; content you contributed to a shared household is anonymised so the household keeps working for its other members (see the privacy policy for detail).

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the service and its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licence wind-down, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply.

8. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. You use the app at your own discretion and risk. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

To keep the app reliable, we collect crash and error diagnostics through a third-party crash-reporting service, as described in our privacy policy.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Popcode Studio, LLC and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, items, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Changes to the app or these terms

We may modify, add, or remove features, and we may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, stop using the app and delete your account.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located there, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
